yeah fuck we’re all creative and imaginative and shit. we created and imagined sky scrapers, a pig in a blanket, style, art, houses, food, money, language this fuckin list goes on and on. what i’m saying is that everything i dream about everyday could just be my imagination maxed the fuck out. dreaming about parallel universes, futures, perception, human being species, evolution, brains, why are we here? and so on but..that could very well be just my imagination. everything around us we made and imagined. like WTF is the internet? is u explained that to sum nigga back then bf internet theyde fuckin think u were sum crazy magic believer fucker. anyways, everything that goes on in my head is dreams and creativity and in retrospect, its pure science. pure cold hard science. earth came, insects dinosaurs homosepians. we’re just animals tryin to survive on sum planet that made life.
BUT WAIT? what’s life? is it consciousness, the brain, perception, breathing? you can be ALIVE but not conscious, so are you alive? what..the fuck.
It is, in fact, nothing short of a miracle that the modern methods of education have not yet entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry; for this delicate plant, aside from stimulation, stands mainly in need of freedom; without this it goes to wrack and ruin without fail. It is a very grave mistake to think that the enjoyment of seeing and searching can be promoted by means of coercion and a sense of duty.
One had to cram all this stuff into one’s mind, whether one liked it or not. This coercion had such a deterring effect that, after I had passed the final examination, I found the consideration of any scientific problems distasteful to me for an entire year.
Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the Gods.
Henry David Thoreau
What does education often do? It makes a straight-cut ditch of a free, meandering brook.
How could youths better learn to live than by at once trying the experiment of living?
Men are born ignorant, not stupid; they are made stupid by education.
Education is one of the chief obstacles to intelligence and freedom of thought.
He was so learned that he could name a horse in nine languages; so ignorant that he bought a cow to ride on.
Education is a state-controlled manufactory of echoes.
Helen Beatrix Potter
Thank goodness I was never sent to school; it would have rubbed off some of the originality.
My grandmother wanted me to have an education, so she kept me out of school.
I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built up on the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think.
Alice Duer Miller
It is among the commonplaces of education that we often first cut off the living root and then try to replace its natural functions by artificial means. Thus we suppress the child’s curiosity and then when he lacks a natural interest in learning he is offered specialcoaching for his scholastic difficulties.
Edward M. Forster
Spoon feeding in the long run teaches us nothing but the shape of the spoon.
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to life not life to years. We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space.
We’ve done larger things, but not better things. We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.
